Among the three New Orleans Saints running backs who played, the running back that clearly looked the best was Chris Ivory; he ran the ball hard and showed breakability into the second level of the defense. I don’t know why he’s not used more. If Sproles is out next week, I don’t trust any of the Saints running backs.

As with Chris Ivory, the same is true for Jacquizz Rodgers. Compared to Michael Turner, he has quickness, agility, speed, and better hands. If Rodgers is available, you should pick him up because I have to believe he will become a bigger part of the offense towards the end of the year. Also, Turner had three goaline carries and looked bad in every attempt. However, the fact he’s still getting those attempts is the reason why you start him.

Nothing crazy about Danny Woodhead; he has games like this every 3-6 games; there’s no way to predict when these games will occur.

Chris Johnson is officially back. He’s a top running back the rest of the year. He ran the ball hard and is showing the quickness/vision that made him so great back in 2009. What’s going unnoticed is the Titans offensive line. They’ve improved a lot in the past four weeks; creating running room for Johnson to do his thing.

If you have Frank Gore, now is the best time to trade him. He looked great on Sunday, but last year his rushing attempts dropped 23% after the first games last year; an average of 20 carries a game to 15 carries game for the last eight games. Kendall Hunter should be owned in all leagues, even if you do not own Gore.

There may be trouble on the horizon for Willis McGahee owners. Last week he fumbled twice and there were stretches where McGahee sat on the bench and Ronnie Hillman was the feature back (Hillman looked really good). I wouldn’t be surprised if more of a time share emerges; killing McGahee’s fantasy value.

The 49er defense looked really bad against the Rams. They were so bad they made Sam Bradford look like a competent NFL quarterback. They couldn’t stop the run and allowed a game ending 80 yard pass that was nullified by a Rams penalty. This could be a case where they didn’t take the Rams lightly, but next week they get the Bears, which is a must win if they want any chance of getting a playoff bye.

The Dolphins are no longer a top 10 defense. For the past three weeks their secondary has played poorly; allowing a lot of completions on 3rd and long. Their run defense couldn’t get any penetration at all against the Titans.

The Bengals defense looked really impressive; they got a great pass rush with 4 defensive linemen; tackled extremely well, specifically 95% of the time the first man got the tackle; I think it’s very possible they will be a top 5 defense for me next week against the Chiefs.
