My First Fantasy Football Post

I’ve been playing Fantasy Football for 11 years. It sounds really strange to type/say that. Seems like yesterday I started my first league. When I first started playing I relied on reading the box scores and watching the highlights on ESPN Prime Time to acquire knowledge about players. Needless to say I did not do very well.

In the last four years I started to dig deeper and increase my knowledge. I started listening to podcasts, subscribing to ESPN Insider, Roto Wire, The Huddle, watching every game and etc to look for trends and not let the stats tell me the story. This newly found knowledge base gave me a competitive advantage against my opponents, which resulted in four straight playoff births and one championship (I’m referring to one league instead of several).

When someone finds sustained success it is a logical progression to feel he/she is better than fantasy professionals. This is what I am aiming to do starting in Week 4. I am going to create my own rankings and compare them to ESPNs rankings. The analysts included are Matthew Berry, Christopher Harris, Eric Karabell and Tristan Cockcroft. My scoring is going to follow ESPNs standard scoring with a few added wrinkles.
